PostDoc

1 postdoc and 3 PhD student positions are available in this project. We offer good salaries and possibility to work on a wide range of topics. To apply send your CV and a short description of scientific interests to dokmpa@univ.gda.pl Any inquires should be directed to the same address.

Project scope:

Study of quantum information processing in the case when communication and memory are limited to just a few qubits. We are interested in doing this mainly in the context of the three following fileds:

The position involves analytical and computational modelling of laser excitation of semiconductor quantum dots and other systems, devising schemes for the erasure of information stored in those systems, and extending the thermodynamical framework to incorporate the erasure schemes. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in computational quantum physics preferably with a background in semiconductor quantum dot systems (or similar area of condensed matter physics).

The research group (http://iqoqi.at/en/group-page-romero-isart) led by Oriol Romero-Isart at the Institute of Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (Innsbruck, Austria) announces the opening of two PostDoc positions in Theoretical Quantum Optics. The appointment is for 1+1 years with the possibility of further extension. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic researchers with an excellent scientific record. Women are particularly encouraged to apply.

This fellowship is offered through the Macquarie University Node of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Engineered Quantum Systems (EQUS) [http://equs.org/]. The position is for 24 months from the start date and is available now. The Fellow will conduct independent research and work with EQuS researchers at Macquarie University under the supervision of A/Prof Gavin Brennen, Prof. Jason Twamley, and Dr. Thomas Volz.

In the theory group of Prof. Uwe R. Fischer at Seoul National University, there is an opening for a Postdoc position for one year, with a possible extension by another year. Possible research topics are novel quantum phases in optical lattices, dipolar gases with strong correlations, the many-body physics of fragmented condensates, dynamical quantum phase transitions, the Kibble-Zurek mechanism of topological defect creation, and quantum state transfer in hybrid quantum systems.
