There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher on “Experimental Quantum Information with Trapped Strontium Rydberg Ions” at Stockholm University. We are searching for a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher interested in experimental quantum optics and quantum information with trapped ions. The research will focus on the investigation of trapped strontium Rydberg ions, which is a novel approach for quantum information processing. It joins the high level of quantum control of trapped ions and the strong dipolar interaction between Rydberg atoms.

[Postdoctoral research fellowship and PhD positions]

Two postdoctoral positions and PhD positions are available from Oct. 1 2015 in the group of Quantum Information Theory led by Joonwoo Bae (Hanyang University-ERICA) and Won-Young Hwang (Chonnam National University), recently established consortium in Korea. The successful candidates will conduct an independent research and interact with the local group, in topics of fundamental aspects of quantum information theory toward cryptographic applications.

Two new Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) posts are available in the area of quantum technologies, based in the newly established EPSRC Quantum Communications Hub which is led by the University of York. The £24m five-year Hub, directed by Professor Tim Spiller, involves eight universities - Bristol, Cambridge, Heriot-Watt, Leeds, Royal Holloway, Sheffield, Strathclyde and York (lead). Private sector partners include BT, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and Toshiba Research Europe Ltd (TREL).

The new round of Anne McLaren Fellowships (for women in science) and Nottingham Research Fellowships (for all candidates) at the University of Nottingham is now open. The Fellowships are open to outstanding early career researchers with up to 8 years of postdoctoral experience. The Fellowships offer a three year competitive salary, with a link to a permanent academic position at the end of the project (subject to performance).

Group: AtomChip Laboratory (www.bgu.ac.il/atomchip)

Deadline: until positions are filled.

We invite applications for post-doctoral researchers in the field of quantum optics, cold atoms, and atom spectroscopy. We offer a highly stimulating and energetic environment for experimental and theoretical atomic physicists and very competitive offers for both domestic and international applicants, including generous re-location packages. Applicants should have extensive experience in atomic physics and ultra-cold atoms.
