In this postdoc position Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) computing will be used to treat quantum chemistry problems of industry relevance. The candidate will be based in the research center of Total SA in Saclay on the outskirts of Paris, France, and will be working in a team led by Dr. Marko Rančić.

For this position a fresh PhD graduate in theoretical quantum chemistry, computational physics (material science or atomic physics) or theoretical quantum computing is desirable. Candidates not possessing appropriate qualifications will not be considered

We offer a 2-years post-doctoral position in the area of quantum computing, quantum programming, and the analysis of quantum algorithms at the Quantum Systems of Informatics Group at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences, Gliwice, Poland. The position is founded within the scope of Polish National Science Centre project Impact of input data alteration and modification of the algorithm parameters on the efficiency of quantum programs.

Overview

The Quantum Information and Computation group at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at the University of Innsbruck is looking for a Postdoc to start working on a new ambitious and exciting project. The multidisciplinary scope of this research brings together ideas from artificial intelligence, measurement-based quantum computation and theoretical quantum optics. The ideal candidate has proven expertise in at least two of these fields, and is familiar with numerical simulations and analytics in quantum theory.

Who we are

A Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) position is available in the area of quantum technologies, supported by EPSRC’s Quantum Communications Hub (https://www.quantumcommshub.net/about-us/). The Hub, led by the University of York, is a major collaboration between several universities and industrial partners and funding has just been announced for five more years. The role of the Hub is to develop new quantum communications technologies as part of the UK National Quantum Technologies Programme.

PhD and Postdoc positions (3 years) are available in the newly established Quantum Error Correction group led by Felix Huber at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

We are looking for exceptional candidates with background in quantum information or mathematics, with an interest in theoretical or experimental quantum error correction, entanglement theory, optimization, invariant theory, and/or mathematical physics.

The position is part of the project “Quantum Computing Platform for NISQ Era Commercial Applications” funded by Innovate UK. This is a multidisciplinary collaborative project involving stakeholders in industry (Rigetti and Standard Chartered) and academy (University of Edinburgh). The successful candidate will join a team focused on conducting leading research into quantum computation for emerging scalable devices. This full time, fixed term post is available from 1 November 2020 until 31 May 2023

We are offering a postdoc (E13) and a PhD position (E13 3/4) to highly motivated and well-qualified researchers who intend to conduct research in near-term quantum computing and simulation. Possible topics include the following:

- Notions of quantum machine learning and near-term quantum computing

- Benchmarking and tomography

- Analog quantum simulation

This position is embedded in the research project QUANTUS‐IV MAIUS, which is carried out by the QUANTUS collaboration of seven German Universities and Research Institutes. QUANTUS (“Quanten‐gase unter Schwerelosigkeit”) is funded by the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and aims to investigate ultra‐cold quantum gases in microgravity.
