Postdoctoral and PhD positions are available in the group of Quantum Information Theory at KAIST. The successful candidates will work as part of the research group led by Joonwoo Bae, in topics of fundamental aspects of quantum information theory and their applications to communication, metrology, and computation. The topics include quantum protocols, entanglement theory, quantum channels, etc.

The Group led by Prof. Radim Filip at Palacky University (http://muj.optol.cz/filip/) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in quantum parameter estimation with quantum non-Gaussian states of light and matter allowing error correction strategies. Expertise with non-Gaussian quantum optics, quantum cavity/circuit electrodynamics and physics of trapped atoms/ions will be valued, but an open-minded researcher ready for a new challenge is most welcome.

The research will be applied to quantum communications and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. The position is in the Quantum Communications sub-group, led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko, within the Quantum Optics Theory group of prof. Radim Filip.

The research will be applied to satellite-based quantum key distribution and experimental-theoretical collaboration with the leading experimental groups in the field is foreseen. The position is in the Quantum Communications sub-group, led by Dr. Vladyslav Usenko, within the Quantum Optics Theory group of prof. Radim Filip.

Description of tasks

Study of fundamental bounds and optimal protocols in quantum metrology in presence of realistic noise models in optical and atomic systems both in single and multiparamter problems as well as investigations of connections between quantum metrology and quantum thermodynamics.

The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2018, item 1668).

Project Title: Continuous Variable Quantum Communication Capabilities for Low-Earth Orbit Satellites.

Within the the EU QT-Flagship, the OpenSuperQ consortium will build a cloud-based superconducting quantum computer at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden. As part of this effort, we are currently seeking a Postdoc in Computational Quantum Chemistry, who will work in the Chalmers team modelling physical systems on quantum computers.
