Here comes another round of attractive opportunities from the University of Nottingham: This is your chance to get a two-year PostDoctoral Fellowship (with flexible conditions, research expenses and support for childcare) to join the dynamic and young Quantum Information group in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Nottingham (Dr G. Adesso, Dr I. Fuentes, Dr M. Guta).

Announcement. Applications are invited for Anne McLaren Fellowships 2012 (for exceptional women only) and Nottingham Advance Research Fellowships 2012 (for outstanding postdocs) who wish to establish a research career in the UK. The Fellowships are a recognised first step into an independent research career, and are funded by the University of Nottingham’s Research and Knowledge Transfer Board. Fellowships will commence in October 2012. There are two Anne McLaren places available (for women in science, engineering and medicine), and a total of 6 Nottingham Advance places, of which only 1 to be assigned in the Faculty of Sciences. Competition is tough at the Faculty level so strong candidates with novel and possibly interdisciplinary ideas for a project are very welcome!!

About the Quantum Stochastics & Information group at the School of Mathematical Sciences, University of Nottingham. Building on the tradition of quantum probability and quantum stochastic calculus (Prof. V.P. Belavkin), our current interests include: theory of entanglement and quantum correlations; relativistic quantum information; quantum statistics, metrology and estimation; and much more. We maintain active collaborations with the gravity group and the new Midlands Ultracold Atoms Research Centre at Nottingham, as well as with a number of theory and experimental groups in UK and worldwide. We are currently 3 staff members, 1 postdoc, 10 PhD students.

Please get in touch with Gerardo Adesso (gerardo.adesso@nottingham.ac.uk), Ivette Fuentes (ivette.fuentes@nottingham.ac.uk) or Madalin Guta (madalin.guta@nottingham.ac.uk) for expressions of interest, well before November 7, 2011.
