The Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw invites applications for two research positions in quantum physics and quantum optics. The positions are funded from the European Union’s 7th Framework Programme project PhoQuS@UW: Fostering Excellence in Photonics and Quantum Science which aims at expanding experimental and theoretical research in widely defined optics and quantum physics including quantum optics and quantum information, ultrafast optics, atto-science, photonics, biophotonics, plasmonics, and related areas of research.
A 2-year Postdoctoral position in Theoretical Quantum Optics of Quantum Many-Body Systems is available at the University of Oxford. The deadline is 19 May 2013.
The project’s target is merging quantum optics and many-body physics of ultracold quantum gases, using theoretical methods of atomic and condensed matter physics. The post-holder will address phenomena, where the quantum natures of both light and ultracold matter play equally important roles.

The Quantum Science and Technologies Group in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Louisiana State University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position of two years duration. This Programme, directed by Professors Vlatko Vedral and Dieter Jaksch, aims to develop a new methodology for overcoming the extreme fragility of quantum memory by learning how biological molecules shield fragile quantum states from the environment.
