We are scouting strongly motivated scholars to join the NEUQUAM team led by Dr. J. Marino (https://sites.google.com/view/nequantumuniv) at the SUNY in Buffalo, USA.

The Quantum Computing Hardware Laboratory at TII’s Quantum Research Centre (QRC) in Abu Dhabi is seeking talented experimentalists to design, fabricate, and carry out laboratory operations and quantum experiments on superconducting quantum computing hardware.

Your PhD project will be part of an interdisciplinary research project bridging theoretical physics and theoretical computer science.
In the course of this, you will work on

• implementing efficient simulators for continuous and discrete variable systems with noise based on Gaussian/stabilizer decompositions
• quantum error mitigation and correction for continuous variable systems
• evaluating and rigorously define the computational power of continuous variable systems

Your PhD project will be part of an interdisciplinary research project bridging theoretical physics and theoretical computer science.
In the course of this, you will work on

• extending established techniques for quantum circuit representation and manipulation (e.g. diagrammatic methods like ZX-calculus) towards description of quantum noise
• employ such extended methods for quantum circuit compilation, optimization and error mitigation
• collaborate with theoretical computer scientists on developing noise-aware quantum programming paradigms

The University of Bordeaux is opening a "Chaire de professeur junior" in Quantum Information. The position offers the possibility of promotion to Full Professor after four years, subject to a positive evaluation.

The Quantum Thermodynamics Group in the Department of Physics at UMBC invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work under the mentorship of Dr. Sebastian Deffner. This postdoctoral position will be funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
